Winter Training

SHAKOPEE SOCCER PREPARES PLAYERS FOR ADVANCEMENT TO THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF SOCCER

SSA’s Winter Training

Players in this group all have a high desire to improve. Sessions will be organized and adapted to ensure players progress in their skills. Groups will be separated by boys and girls and each gender will have ability-based pools of players.

COVID Protocol - 1/4/2020

Due to Covid, no spectators will be allowed inside the Blast during Winter Training.  Players should be dropped off at the door on the left side of the building under the Golf Simulation sign.  Please drop your child off no more than 5 minutes before his or her start time.  Players should arrive dressed and ready to play (exception, shoes or cleats can be put on after they arrive).  There will be volunteers directing the players to the Field House and their assigned field.  Players will exit the Blast through the Field House and will come outside into the parking lot to the left of the door they entered.  Parents should pick their player up from the sidewalk near the exit door.  The parking spaces near the exit door will also be blocked off so cars cannot park there.  Please walk to the exit door to pick up your player.  For the players’ safety, we do not want players walking through the parking lot unattended.

Below is a photo of the drop off and pick up areas for training at The Blast.

Drop off & Pick up AT THE SOCCER BLAST

Your player will enter the Blast by the secondary entry near the Golf Simulator entryway.  They will take a left and head directly to the dome area.  When training is finished, they will leave through the emergency exit for pick-up.

Shakopee Soccer wants to prepare players for advancement to the highest levels of soccer

Building a strong base at a young age is critical to future success. While we will continue to provide a great environment for all soccer players, this additional training is specifically intended for players looking to pursue the highest levels.  A primary goal of Winter Training is to prepare players to be highly successful on their spring/summer teams. In addition, the program is also aiming to improve a player’s chance of identification within MYSA’s District Select and ODP (Olympic Development Program).
