PROCESS FOR CERTIFYING A COACH
Complete all these steps (follow either MYSA or TCSL process, based on your team) before practicing with your players.
For an overview of the MYSA coach certification process, go to https://www.mnyouthsoccer.org/risk-management
Background checks are REQUIRED for all coaches, trainers and team managers each soccer season (Aug 1st to July 31st of each calendar year). Even if you have done one for another association, you must do one for SSA. Please go to the following link to complete your background check at: MYSA Background Check
Concussion Training is also REQUIRED for all coaches by statute from the state of MN, and the completion certificate must be submitted online following the instructions located here: http://www.shakopeesoccer.com/page/show/499998-concussion-policy
SafeSport Training is also REQUIRED for all coaches by federal law. Go to https://www.mnyouthsoccer.org/safesport to learn about the program, and contact the club administrator to register for the course.
