In the 2011 legislative session, a bill was passed and signed into law regarding concussions and youth athletes.  Minnesota has joined a growing number of states that have passed laws on providing concussion information, training and procedures to be followed for youth athletes to return to play.  The Minnesota legislation requires any municipality, business, school district or nonprofit organization that organizes a youth athletic activity and charges a fee to follow the statutes requirements. 

The statute applies to all practices and games.

 

SHAKOPEE SOCCER ASSOCIATION POLICY:   All coaches, managers or adults receiving an MYSA Member Pass are required to complete the online training AND submit their completed course certificate before receiving their MYSA pass.

MANDATORY: Take the Course

Requirement for all Shakopee Soccer Association Coaches, Managers and Referees:

Go to: CDC: Concussion Training for Coaches. Click on "Take the Training" link located in the middle of their webpage. It takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. Renewal is every three years.

Upon completion of the course you will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the training. This document is proof the course has been taken and will need to be submitted to SSA.  Submit your certificate to admin@shakopeesoccer.com
