Shakopee Soccer Association is pleased to announce a new program for providing excellence in soccer training to boys and girls who are just a little too young to participate in the traveling soccer program.
BEGINNING MONDAY APRIL 23, training sessions will be held at the 17th Avenue Complex from 5:30-6:30 (Rec Fields B1 and B2).

The focus of the Academy will be on teaching the fundamental building blocks of soccer by teaching the basics of dribbling, passing, receiving, finishing and defending.These skills will be taught through a combination of individual training and small sided games.
All Academy players will participate in indoor winter training during the months of January thru March along with weekly Academy training sessions outdoors during the Spring and Fall Rec seasons.
In addition to Academy training sessions, each participant will be required to sign up for both the Spring and Fall Rec sessions.
(Rec session costs are not included in Academy registration fees.)
The Academy staff is made up of qualified coaches and trainers who will work with players in groups no larger than a 10:1 ratio ensuring that all players will receive individual attention. The Academy staff is also supplemented with current and former Shakopee players who are eager to work with the committed Academy players.
U4-U8 Boys and Girls who are just a little too young to participate in the traveling soccer program.
In order to achieve a proper trainer-to-player ratio, the program will be limited to a maximum of 40 players. There are no try-outs for this program - players are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis
Working to train U4-U8 players to the highest levels possible, preparing them for the traveling program.
The cost of the Academy program is $125 for January 2 through July 31 2012, which includes all training sessions, Academy training shirt and a soccer ball for each participant. (Cleats and shin guards are required and are the responsibility of the participants.)
